At the near end of the room, a regular-looking set of folks are engaged in friendly conversation, ignoring proceedings at the other end. It's a visual metaphor — better to be a guide than a guru.

Guide, not Guru: Rethinking thought leadership

We're in a dimly lit winter room, looking at a window sill and through the glass, a snowy city square in soft focus and lit for early evening with street lamps and festoons. Our eye is drawn to the items on the sill - a steaming mug with the words Mr Grumpy, a bright red alarm clock with its 'day face' compressed into a few short hours and the rest of the dial marked "It's too early". There's a scribbled to-do list - busy but short and compassionate. And the spine of a book just visible that reads "The little book of hygge." All in all, a beautiful metaphor for the changed energy of the winter season.
